Use of Generative AI
The Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies
To ensure ethical publishing practices and uphold scientific integrity, the Edison Journal for electrical and electronics engineering establishes the following guidelines regarding the use of AI technologies by authors, reviewers, and editors.
For Authors
- Authors may use generative AI tools strictly to improve language and clarity of their manuscripts.
- Such use must be conducted under human supervision, and authors remain fully responsible for all content.
- All use of AI tools must be disclosed in the manuscript in a clearly labeled section (e.g., "AI Usage Statement") prior to the References.
- AI tools must not be listed as authors.
- Use of AI-generated or modified images, figures, or graphical abstracts is not permitted, unless the AI is part of the research methodology, in which case the method must be described in full.
For Reviewers
- Reviewers must not upload manuscripts or review reports to any AI tool.
- Peer review must be conducted entirely by humans; AI should not be used for content generation, analysis, or evaluation.
For Editors
- Manuscripts and editorial communications are confidential and must not be processed through AI tools.
- Editorial judgments and decisions must be made without AI involvement.
General Statement
- The journal may use internal, privacy-compliant AI tools for administrative tasks (e.g., plagiarism detection, reviewer recommendation), in accordance with data protection and responsible AI principles.
Finally, Edison Journal for electrical and electronics engineering is committed to responsible and transparent use of technology in the scholarly publishing process.
